When I first started my online coaching business, I was unsure how to get coaching clients online. What I was sure about was that I needed to sign clients quickly.
I developed a £5K 1:1 coaching package and, to build momentum, I offered it at a 50% saving. My first clients came in through a simple book a call campaign - before I even had 200 followers on Instagram.
That experience showed me something powerful: you don’t need a massive following to get clients. You DO need the right strategy, the right message, and the confidence to invite people in.

Think of your Instagram bio or LinkedIn headline as your shop-front. It should be instantly clear;
who you help
what transformation you provide
how someone can take the next step with you
Do These 4 Things Today:
👉🏼 add a simple call-to-action like: “DM me COACH for details.” That tiny tweak alone has helped me to sign clients.
👉🏼 create highlights for each offer and ead magnet you have, so that browsers can do what they do best…. Browse.
👉🏼 pin 3 posts to the top of your profile to instantly show your potential new client why they should choose you.
👉🏼 make sure your link in bio includes a sign up to a free masterclass or pdf guide so your audience can take the next step with you.
See how I do these things here and simply copy it on your own profile.
Problem-focussed content works because it reminds your audience their problem is both important and urgent. And this then activates them into wanting to make a change.
And because your offer has been designed to create transformation; a clear tangible result or outcome, this instantly energises your potential new client into desiring your offer.
A problem hook could sound like:
“Tired of starting every month at £0?”
“Fed up feeling like the best-kept secret?”
“Feeling like you’re working 60-hour weeks for very little reward?”
Simply sharing educational content doesn’t make your audience aware of the fact you understand their struggles, or even care.
When your ideal client feels seen, they lean in to hear your solution.

When I first started my coaching business, I built trust by sharing my own personal journey - the risks I took, the fears I faced, and the results I achieved. When you share stories (client wins, lessons learned, behind-the-scenes), your audience feels connected. Connection creates conversions.
What story could you share that would instantly demonstrate your ability to help your client get the result they desire and deserve?
A good structure for telling a transformation story is;
👉🏼 Context: where were you before?
👉🏼 Action: what action did you take?
👉🏼 Result: what was the outcome?
I’ll be honest - I’m a little bit (ok, a lot) obsessed with sales funnels. Why? Because I started my business to give me time back to be a mum, to not be chained to my corporate job anymore and to travel and do lunch with the girls (and a cheeky spa day here and there).
Put simply, a sales funnel is where you lead with value and then invite the sale. And that then gives you the opportunity to make a recommendation to join your group, buy your course or book your 1:1 service.

Your story viewers are your hottest audience. They visit your stories for the value you share and because they’re interested to see the behind-the-scenes of your business and life.
I’m not suggesting you do a full-on sales pitch every day, but don’t be scared to make a sales invitation.

The I’d suggest sharing this exact messaging;
“I’ve just opened up 3 spots in my calendar for [insert ideal client] who wants [insert tangible result]. Is this you? These calls are usually [insert value of the call with you]. DM me the word [BREAKTHROUGH] to book.”
